Welcome to my blog. My name is Mike Slager.  I am a husband and a father.  I am a nurse by trade, and a teacher by calling. I have been a student of the hebraic roots of my faith for nearly a decade. I do not fashion myself to be an authority but am merely sharing my understanding of the scriptures through my posts. I try to follow the apostle Paul’s warning to the congregation at Rome when he said, ” Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the measure of faith God has given you.” Romans 12:3.  I am also the teaching elder at Firstfruits Fellowship. Firstfruits Fellowship is a Bible teaching, gospel preaching, Hebrew Roots type congregation. We meet every Sabbath from 2:30 – 5:00 PM at Trinity Free Methodist Church, 8650 Grand Blvd, in Merrillville, IN. A fellowship meal follows our service. Visitors are always welcome!
